About connecting your account

If you are already signed in, continue with that account. After approving access, you will return to ChatGPT.

ChatGPT may ask during installation or the first time you save. Installing the plugin does not approve account access.

ChatGPT can save reads, check receipts for known saves, and send technical failure reports. It cannot read your saved content, search your Library, or delete reads.

Disconnecting blocks future saves from existing access. Your saved reads stay in your Library.

Set the page to suit you: Open Appearance in a read to change the font, text size, spacing, or theme.
Pick up where you stopped: Use Continue reading on Home to return to your saved reading position.
Find something you saved: Open Library to browse your reads, or use Search to find a title.
Finish in your own time: Choose Finish when you are done. Finished reads stay in Library, and you can resume them later.

Save longer answers by default

After your first successful save, you can ask ChatGPT to save longer answers without repeating the request.

Open ChatGPT’s Settings → Personalization → Custom instructions.

Paste the complete instructions below at the end of your task instructions. This authorizes saving the task result.
Scheduled tasks may not load plugin skills. Include these saving steps directly.
Scheduled-task instructions
After each run, save the complete result to Aperture Read using save_document, unless the task's agreed criteria found no material update. In that case, report no material change without saving an empty read. This task authorizes saving reports that meet its criteria. Do not depend on a skill being available. - Keep the full Markdown and ending, including tables, code, formulas, references, supplied links, image alt text and captions. Never invent URLs. Images and files remain links; disclose unavailable items. - When authoring a new diagram, use a fenced mermaid block and a short text explanation. When saving existing content, preserve each Mermaid fence, language, and source exactly. Do not redraw or rewrite it. Keep unavailable visual artifacts explicit; never invent Mermaid source to replace a diagram whose source is missing. - The reader renders supported Mermaid diagrams locally and retains source if rendering fails. A save receipt confirms storage, not diagram rendering. - Generate a fresh UUID capture_id for each new result. Prefer UUIDv7 from a real generator; UUIDv4 is valid. Never copy an example ID. Keep the ID and exact submitted arguments together. - Follow the live tool schema: capture_id, title, format="markdown", body, and supported optional fields only. Use source_url only when I supplied it. Omit absent fields and series. - Confirm success only from a real receipt. Return its reader link and warnings. The host controls the receipt card; never repeat a confirmed save to get a card. - Retry an unconfirmed save at most twice with the SAME ID and EXACT arguments: three save calls total. Never reconstruct missing arguments or replace an ID to bypass a conflict. Correct explicitly rejected fields once. Never shorten, split or change format to bypass limits. - On capture_conflict, stop retries. If available, use get_capture_status. A receipt does not prove content matches; not_found does not exclude an in-flight save. Never restore or duplicate removed captures automatically. - If tools, authorization or capacity are unavailable, or limits reject the result, keep the full result and original save arguments in the task output. Say failed or unconfirmed accurately. Explain the manual recovery needed. For tool_unavailable, refresh the connection and start a new conversation before retrying the original attempt. - After recovery, if available and authorized, report_save_failure may record one technical observation with execution_context="scheduled" and the actual attempt count. Exclude content, titles, URLs, credentials and raw errors. Keep support IDs. Never guess causes. If reporting fails, stop reporting.

I cannot find or connect the plugin

Open Aperture Read in ChatGPT. If it is unavailable, contact Support.

If sign-in was interrupted, return to ChatGPT and select Aperture Read again. Connect with the account you want to save to.

My save was not confirmed

Keep the complete answer in ChatGPT. Ask ChatGPT to check or recover the original save, then follow its recovery guidance.

Do not assume the read was saved until you receive a confirmed receipt. Keep any support ID if the problem continues.

My saved answer is incomplete

Compare the saved read with the original answer, including its ending and references. Keep the original and tell us what is missing when you send feedback.

My scheduled brief was not saved

Check the task output for a saved receipt or recovery guidance. Keep the complete result if saving failed or remains unconfirmed.

Check that the task includes the complete saving instructions. If saving tools are unavailable, ask ChatGPT for manual recovery steps. Keep the original result and any save details.
